Gala Schniga® SchniCo red(s)

ORIGIN:

Mutation of Gala Schniga Schnitzer developed in South Tyrol.

TREE:

The tree grows moderately fast.

FLOWERING AND POLLINATION:

It blooms a few days earlier than Golden Delicious. Good pollinators are Red Delicious, Braeburn, Elstar, Pinova, Golden Delicious, Fuji, Evereste.

FRUIT:

The fruit has medium size (larger than Gala Schniga Schnitzer). The apple is entirely covered intensive dark red blush, darker than Gala Schniga® SchniCo(s). The shape is a flat cone. The fruit starts to stain approximately 1-2 weeks before harvest, faster than Gala Schniga®SchniCo(s). At the time of harvest all apples have a uniform color and can be harvested at the same time.

FRUCTIFICATION:

It bears fruit early, has high stability and far less tendency to regression in comparison with other mutations of Gala.

TASTE:

The flesh is yellow, firm, juicy, has good sugar content, and it is more compact than other mutations of Gala.

HARVEST MATURITY:

End of August, beginning of September. It gains its colour relatively early, then reaches the ideal state of maturity and time of harvest, it is possible to gather fruit in one stage.

STORAGE:

It has very good storage properties in comparison with typical Gala.
